Had to give a mention to Steve Irwin, Discovery Chanel's Crocodile Hunter, who died yesterday after being 'spiked' by a stingray. Not quite sure why we're so surprised by his sudden death. We should probably be more surprised that he managed to live this long...
Anyway, sorry to see him go, his show used to be one of our guilty pleasures - always made the stunts on JACKASS or FEAR FACTOR look tame in comparison...
Update; Supposedly stingrays aren't naturally hostile to humans and only 17 people have EVER died from being attacked by them, so the fact that this is how he died is somewhat ironic considering the dangerous animals he usually antagonised. An animal conspiracy?
