EAMES ELEPHANT.

Designers Ray and Charles Eames (responsible for some of the most iconic designs of the 20th century) originally created this plywood elephant for children but never had it manufactured. Although two prototypes were produced and shown at the New York Museum of Modern Art, only one known prototype exists, remaining in the possession of the Eames family...

To commemorate Charles' 100th birthday VITRA is doing a limited run of 1000 in each colour for about US$2000 bucks a piece. Nice idea, using an animal known for it's memory...

Otherwise for paupers like us, there's the alternate option of ordering the reprint of CASA BRUTUS no.18, which comes with a cardboard version that you can punch out and assemble...

GIRLS NIGHT OUT.

Lisza (front) with artwork (back)

707's beloved in-house graphic designer Lisza seems destined for greatness... She was just honoured by being included in YEN magazine's annual design book Curvy 4 and her work included in a special exhibition held in Sydney.

Other artists involved in Curvy 4 are Fafi, Elke Kramer (don't forget to check out her necklaces at 707 Kemang!!), Deanne Cheuk, and Marmalade Magazine UK.

INVISUBARU.

We're big fans of any art that connects with your average person on the street and this life-size wireframe Subaru by Brit artist Ben Radcliffe is one of the coolest pieces we've seen this year. Previously displayed at the Paul Smith gallery, it was parked outside on the street for a more recent exhibition, even picking up a few parking tickets from 'comedic' British traffic wardens... Not sure of the car choice, except that maybe it's one car you don't want to be seen in?

NO-NO-NOTORIOUS.

click for larger image

Our friends at Notorious Fam are throwing a little shindig on the roof of our building this Sunday. Definitely unmissable - lots of cool work on show (including from our in-house creative Lisza!) and live installations by Darbotz and Kims to the background beats of Future 10 DJ's Mayo and Ditto. Anyway, what else are you going to do in Jakarta on a Sunday evening...

Still very few Notorious Fam T's available at 707ANNEX in Citos, but hopefully getting some replacement sizes/styles soon...

UPDATE!!
Due to the fantastic weather we've been having in Jakarta, and with this being an outdoor event, it has now been postponed until the following sunday (Feb 11th)... See you there.

TOYS, TOYS, TOYS.

love the Mishka Dunny with sack o' cash

Now on sale in 707 (Kemang) and 707ANNEX (CiToS), are lots of new arrivals from KIDROBOT. We are the ONLY official Kidrobot partner in Indonesia.

The latest Dunny Series 3 again features many of the world's best graphic designers showing their creative skills. Already sold out in Kidrobot's stores across the USA, we're one of the few places with sealed blind boxes left. Anywhere. Unlike Singapore, we don't do cheesy stuff like open up all the boxes and take the rare ones to sell on ebay (the Abe Lincoln Jr. and Feric dunny's are going for big bucks on ebay)... For this series they've also hidden a few golden tickets in random boxes which win a special 8" Dunny by Tado. In addition we also have 3 pieces of the hard-to-find Gold Dunny T-shirts at 707 Kemang.

Frank Kozik's Mongers are back. We have a very limited number of boxes left. In addition we have two different designs of Kozik x Kidrobot Monger T's available at 707ANNEX. We have very, very few of these so be quick.

Fatcaps have arrived. Covered in designs by famous graf artists from around the world and designed by the infamous Montana Colours of Spain, these even rattle when you shake 'em... If you're lucky you might find the design by Tilt (currently on ebay for US$150!) which also wins you a free Tilt print.

Mmmmm... Donutzzz. People are going crazy over these like cops at Krispy Kreme (for our foreign readers, yes, we have Krispy Kreme in Jakarta!). Only been in store for a couple of days and stocks are running low... Some are flocked, some plain, some with sprinkles, impossible not to love these. Blind boxed so you don't know what you're getting until you open it up - they come with a chain attached and can be used as a keychain, hung off a bag, or we've been seeing a few used as necklaces...

We've also restocked artist Dalek's Icebot 10" figures. These come packaged in the refrigerator box and are a classic...

Lots more coming soon...

TATTY AT THE TATE.

On September 23rd TATTY DEVINE held down the do-it-yourself fiesta at London's famous Tate Museum as part of the TATE LOUD exhibition program. This is a series of events used to promote individuality and creativity while raising social awareness of current happenings around the world.

Harriet and Rosie (founders and owners of Tatty Devine) were also present, geared to fly to the moon with their super-cool astronaut outfits - the new TD clothing line?

Crowds were able to choose 3 items for FREE which would then be made into a necklace, bracelet or keychain. Each item had a meaning, with items including a gun, peace sign, daisy, heart, tank, dove and more... for your imagination to go wild with... Free Tatty Devine was the order of the day.

the bomb seems more popular than the dove...

The eccentric 'nuclear-plant-astro-futuristic' Devine crew made this an incredibly colourful and unique event. Hopefully we can do something similar in Jakarta too?

Just a reminder, a new shipment of Tatty Devine is exclusively available in 707 now - each piece is ordered in limited numbers and already selling fast... New stock includes pieces from this season's collection 'Intergalactic Hedgerows'.
