LOVIN' THE LOFT.

The Loft

{from Bergas in London}

It's really hard to put THE LOFT into words. On March 18th 2007, we were very lucky to live through the experience.

All we can say is this one will surely be up there with your "wedding-first born-first kiss-first Coltrane" memories - joy and pure music enlightenment in their finest forms from the maestro, David Mancuso... Big ups and mad respect to Alex (Gimme5/Stussy) who hooked us up with this magic!

SPREAD THE LOVE!!!!!!!!

Alex (Gimme 5) & B

David Mancuso - no headphones & old-school decks...

YONE LOVE.

Influential Japanese photographer Yonehara Yasumasa just held a retrospective at STAPLE DESIGN's Reed Space in NYC. We already got a preview look through Staple's spring/summer 2007 catalog that he shot, and it definitely supports his rep for taking original (and dodgy) photos of stunning girls. A few pages are up at Jeff Staple's site, and we may post a few later if we get the all clear...

Look out for Staple's spring collection in both 707 and 707ANNEX around february/march...

SNEAKER PIMPS NYC.

For more info on Sneaker Pimps NYC check photos from Max at FOOTURAMA, or by the guys at FRESHNESS. Looks cool, with some amazing guests, but still think the Jakarta one looks better...

SOHO UNIQLO.

Don't think it's open yet (anyone got more details?), but supposed to open this fall, is the new UNIQLO store in SOHO, NYC. Uniqlo is similar to a Japanese version of Old Navy, selling basic clothing in a zillion colours at super-cheap prices. Since opening its first store in 1984 its been a phenomenon in Japan, quickly growing to become the largest casual store chain with over 500 outlets... The store in SOHO is going to be its global flagship.

Anyway, although we're not the biggest buyers of Uniqlo clothing (except for the boxer shorts which we buy in bulk - little too much info maybe), we still can't wait to visit the NYC store to see what the wizards at design firm WONDERWALL have done with the interior. If you don't know Wonderwall, they're the ones responsible for all the Bathing Ape stores worldwide as well as the slick See by Chloe store in Tokyo.

Aside from the new Soho store, Uniqlo has already been dropping their temporary shipping container stores in various locations... Cool idea (although it's been done before), not convinced about the implementation.
