PAM COLAB EYEWEAR.

New eyewear brand COLAB are definitely taking the game to a new level. Sick of seeing the same repetitive and uninspired sunglass styles, they've started collaborating with artists around the world to produce limited edition designs that stand out from the norm.

Artists involved include Geoff McFetridge, Eboy, and our friends at Perks & Mini...

We've got two styles designed by Perks & Mini in stock.

The WEINER is in tortoiseshell with fake repair bandaging on the bridge and one arm.
The DAMAGE is in matt black, but the frame underneath is luminous pink, which becomes more visible as the black wears off over time...

The quality of the product and attention to detail is stunning, especially for a new brand - they're almost worth buying for the packaging alone. Of course quality comes with a price, but then so does individuality...

In store this weekend. Very limited stock. For more info, check NYLON, COOL HUNTING and the usual suspects...

BEAT THE HEAT.

A couple of the 707 partners were just in Tokyo for SUMMER SONIC. Came back raving about the Japanese concert experience (clean, organized, with wildly enthusiastic crowds shouting things like "we respect you!") but traumatized by the infamous Tokyo summer heat and humidity.

For a better idea of the kind of desperate measures Tokyoites are willing to go to in order to escape the heat, check this photo of a popular wave pool... Even better, check the YouTube video to see the surreal human wave.

Guess the Japanese have a slightly different definition of 'overcrowded' than we do... Personally we think it would have been cool if right after the wave machine started, trap doors suddenly opened up to release the sharks with laser beams on their heads... Another great opportunity for laughs and hi-jinks wasted...

GOOGLE MOON. AND MARS.

The sequel to Google Earth. Added to commemorate the first moon landing... No excuses next time you're lost on the dark side of the moon looking for the Sea of Tranquility Starbucks.

IS THAT A KNIFE IN YOUR POCKET?

The latest top-of-the-line Swiss Army Knife from WENGER. 85 implements, 110 functions, including laser pointer, cigar cutter and golf shoe spike wrench. Not quite what we expected a Swiss soldier to need in the field, but guess that golf, cigars and being able to point at different cheeses from a distance are the perks of being in the army of a neutral country...

SIDEKICKS.

Johnny Drama rockin' CHEAP MONDAY polo in Entourage

Kept noticing sidekicks wearing our stuff while watching DVD's yesterday... (Before we get comments from readers not familiar with piracy-lovin' Indonesia - Entourage series 4 (first 6 episodes) and Die Hard 4.0 are both already available here on DVD for the mammoth price of a buck a piece - not that we support piracy of any kind, ahem).

Both CHEAP MONDAY (most sold out but new stock soon) and TROVATA (new stock just arrived) are exclusively available in 707 in Indonesia...

Kevin Smith (director of Clerks) in TROVATA tee, in Die Hard 4.0

GIVE IT AWAY NOW.

707 is giving away a free pair of kicks and a KIKS TYO tee today at the FOOTURAMA Swapmeet. Buy a Footurama T to be entered in the draw...

IT ISN'T THE FALL THAT KILLS YOU.

Like they say, it isn't the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end...

This has to win the prize for greatest skateboarding bail of all time.

Worst thing is, you know that at the top of the air, 40 feet up, he was looking down already knowing he was seriously screwed with a massive stop to look forward to...

SPACE COWBOY.

Love this NASA photo we came across while surfing... Something about the way it manages to be tranquil yet unnerving (in a 'sh*t-did-i-remember-to-charge-my-jetpack-battery-last-night?' kind of way) at the same time...

Anyway, pretty incredible shot. Well worth the billions in taxpayers money NASA receives. Right...

CLAM DOWN EVERYBODY.

check the first line...

Yeah, we KNOW that English isn't the first language in Indonesia, but still doesn't stop us being amused by the typos, grammatical and usage errors we see everywhere.

Just caught this one at Jakarta airport - one of the best we've seen recently, especially since it's part of a major campaign and in a high profile location where it'll be greeting hordes of english speakers...

FOOTURAMA SWAPMEET.

This Sunday, now a trilogy...

VIRTUALLY REALITY.

Angelina. Kind of.

Just watched the hi-res trailer for BEOWULF, the upcoming movie from director Robert Zemeckis (Back To The Future, Forrest Gump) and felt it deserved a mention... Not because the cast is decent (Anthony Hopkins, Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich), or because the story is a classic, but because the whole film is computer animated and the graphics are pretty stunning...

Tony

Until now computer generated animated films have mostly been aimed at the younger market, featuring stylized main characters. Comparing Beowulf to Toy Story from 10 years ago shows how far graphics and kinematics have progressed. Easy to believe it won't be long before actors don't even need to be on set...

Burnout Paradise

Looking at the previews from the recent E3 electronics expo shows that video game graphics are also jumping ahead pretty quickly. Gotta remember too, these graphics are rendered on-the-fly at 30-60 frames per second, not over hours using banks of computers...

Having said all this, as Pixar's latest, Ratatouille, or tennis on the Wii successfully show, realistic graphics aren't everything...

Gran Turismo 5

HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER.

We love Daft Punk too, but this guy's got way too much time on, sorry, gotta say it... his hands.
